When the enemy tries to make us feel worthless, it’s easy to fall into doubt. In those moments, we need to look to the cross and see how much we are truly valued. The cross is the ultimate symbol of our worth, where Jesus gave His life to redeem ours.
Philippians 2:5-8 says, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
Our worth is not measured by our accomplishments, status, race, relationships, or education. True worth is found in one place—Jesus. What makes us valuable is the God who lives within us. When God breathed His Spirit, His “Ruach,” into man, that’s when humanity gained true value.
Ruach is a Hebrew word meaning breath, wind, or Spirit. It was God’s breath, His very Spirit, that gave life to man, and this breath continues to define our worth. You are not valuable because of what you’ve done but because of the God who breathed life into you.
So the next time the enemy whispers that you’re not valuable, simply smile and point him to the cross. Remember, Jesus loved you so much that He died for you so that you could live. If you haven’t already, accept Him as your personal Savior and Lord. Choose life today.
Be encouraged and stand firm in knowing how deeply you are loved and valued by God.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for giving me life and showing me my true worth through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Help me to reject the lies of the enemy and to rest in the truth of who I am in You. I accept You as my Lord and Savior and choose to live in the light of Your love. Amen.
