Be The Blessing

I can remember the phenomenon surrounding the prayer Jabez. Donald Lawrence (gospel artist) made a song about it and the Church was praying the prayer of Jabez.  I recently came across this prayer one day in my prayer time and found comfort in the things of old.

Jabez asked God to bless him indeed, enlarge his territory but what stuck out the most is that he said help him not to cause pain.  Jabez was saying let me now be a blessing that will bring healing to a room and not pain.

I believe he was asking enlarge my territory,  enlarge my blessing so I can be more of a help to someone else that is hurting and in pain.  I believe this is what Jesus wants from all of us…His true worship.  He wants us that have the capacity and resources to bring about healing.

But the greatest thing about this prayer is that though you may not have great resources you do have something and that’s the ability to be a blessing and not a hurt to everyone you encounter.

So today make yourself a blessing and pray, love and heal like Jesus.  Jesus though he healed the body at times his aim was always to heal the soul with his love.
