Lets Get Back To Being The Church

A Broken Down Church

Sitting here at my desk scrolling through the blog reader I’ve come across some interesting headlines.  Some of the headlines where positive and others where not so positive.

However, the conclusion I have drawn while reading these headlines are that the church and the outside world is in trouble.

The Church in my opinion has become so self consumed with keeping sin out that we no longer recognize the speck in our own eyes.  We’ve obfuscated a message of hope that was long ago explained with simplicity (Jesus can save your soul).

And we have complicated the message of hope with isms that has set the church back for years in my opinion.

We no longer understand that Christianity is not a club for the elite in Christ but it is a place for the broken, humble and weak.

Yes, homosexuality and lesbianism is wrong but so is adultery, looking at people lustfully, fornication, lying, stealing and being lazy are sins as well…  I am reading alot of things that are totally anti love.

I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.  I believe homosexuality and lesbianism not of God. But I also believe that people that practice homosexuality and lesbianism should be loved like the liar, adulterer, cheater and the deceiver.

But I also believe living with a woman or a man that is not your spouse is sin, or looking at pornography…etc..  God hates all sin and I hope we remember that.

I guess I am getting tired of all the crap that we are calling the church.  We have operated in so much anger and self-righteousness at times all in the name of Jesus.  Have we lost the love of Christ in trying to enforce the Bible?

We should be running to open our doors for the lost sheep that have found themselves broken, lost and confused.  But it seems that we are saying if the one lost sheep doesn’t look and smell like us then you are on your own.

One of the most segregated times in our nation is on Sunday morning.  We have Black church, White church…race church.  God is not for division.  Jesus calls us the Body Of Christ not a body in Christ.

Sin is sin no matter how we cut it. But love is love that covers the cuts of sin.  What do you mean?  Good question!  I mean stop saying get away homosexual, get way drunkard and start saying come here my brother and sister and I will show you a better way.

We must be more transparent.  None of us that are saved were saved all of our lives and we had somethings that brought us to our knees as well.

Let us get back to the business of the Church and stop pointing the finger start directing the lost back to Jesus.

He found us didn’t He?
