Releasing the Pressure

In my weakness Your strength is made perfect!

I woke up this morning as I normally do by God’s grace. I showered, shaved got dressed. I went down stairs to the kitchen and made my daughters breakfast and lunches for my wife and I.

Off to work I went! The traffic was a bear this morning and I was tired from barely sleeping the night before.

I arrived at work slightly behind schedule but not late. While walking to work after finding adequate parking it started to rain. I grabbed my umbrella, rollerbag and phone and raced up the hill only to tackle a steeper hill.

However, surfing through my phone seemed to help my arduous daily routine. I arrived at my building 4 minutes behind schedule sat down and started to work.

To my amazement I began to feel a bit anxious and overwhelmed. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me that I didn’t properly communion with God this morning. I didn’t take the time to concentrate on his peace and loving voice.

So I took a few minutes to do some reflection and I began to meditate on him. The scripture Psalms 61:1-2 came to mind.

Furthermore, what really stuck out to me is when David said, “When my heart is overwhelmed lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

It was amazing how when I turned it over to Jesus I could began to feel my stress, anxiety and worry dissipate.

It was at that moment, I knew, I had been lead to the Rock that was higher than I and His name was Jesus.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or confused read Psalms 61:1-2 it will change your life.
